September 2001 mild, wet.

Weather conditions across Gungahlin during September were pleasantly mild, with above average temperatures and rainfall, and less wind than normal.

Nights were generally cool, with an average minimum of 4.8°C (5.2°C last year).   The warmest night occurred on September 25 when the temperature was a warm 12°C, while on September 15 and 27 it dropped to 0°C.

Gungahlin received 8 frosts during the month (6 last year) and there were 4 fogs.

Days were, in the main, mild and cloudy with an average maximum of 18.8°C (well up on last Septembers 17.1°C).   The highest temperature was a warm 26°C, recorded on September 30, while on September 2 the maximum reached just 12°C.

Rainfall for the month totalled 70.6mm (73.0mm last year), with some 44.2mm of this falling in just 24 hours on September 12.   In all, rain was recorded at the Weather Centre on 9 days during the month.

The outlook for Gungahlin is for a continuation of these conditions, with above average temperatures right through to the end of the year.
