Gungahlin records an 'average' November 2017.

Weather conditions across Gungahlin during November were typical of late spring, with a mix of hot and cool days.  It was also a little wetter than normal.

Nights were mild, with an average minimum of 9.8°C; the same as recorded last November, and right on Gungahlin's longer term November average of 9.8°C.  The warmest night for the month occurred on November 29, when the temperature was a muggy 15.8°C, while on November 7, it dropped to a cold 3.9°C.

Days were generally warm and cloudy, with an average maximum of 24.1°C; down slightly on last year’s average of 24.3°C, but right on Gungahlin’s longer term November average of 24.1°C.  The highest temperature for the month was a hot 31.4°C, recorded on November 25, while on November 6, overcast skies, heavy rain and cool S winds, combined to keep Gungahlin’s maximum temperature to a just 14.1°C.

Winds at the Weather Centre averaged at just 0.4 km/h during November, with the strongest gust for the month 32.2 km/h from the S/SE, recorded on November 17.

Gungahlin recorded a welcome 84.6mm of rain in November, over 9 days.  This compares to 74.2mm that fell last November and Gungahlin’s longer term November average of 69.5mm.  Falls in other parts of Canberra were generally heavier, with Canberra AP recording 70.4mm for the month, Tuggeranong 160.4mm, Monash 159.4mm and Melba 86.4mm.  Gungahlin's 2017 rainfall now stands at 469.0mm, well down on the 777.2mm that fell over the same period in 2016.
