November 2006 weather had it all - rain, hail, shine and even some snow!

Weather conditions across Gungahlin during November were rather varied, with long periods of heat and dry, some welcome rain, and even a brief snow fall.

Nights were cool to mild, with an average minimum of 8.8 degrees.  The warmest night for the month occurred on November 22, when the temperature was a warm 18.2 degrees, while on November 16, it dropped to a cold 0.7 degrees.

Days were mild to warm and mostly cloudy, with an average maximum of 25.3 degrees; up on Gungahlinís longer term November average of 23 degrees.  The highest temperature for the month was a hot 33.9 degrees, on November 21, while on November 15, overcast skies, strong NW winds and some brief sleet/snow, combined to keep Gungahlin's maximum temperature to just 12.1 degrees. 

Winds at the Weather Centre averaged at 4.2 km/h during November, with the strongest gust for the month 54.7 km/h from the NW, recorded on November 22.

Gungahlinís dry spell continued in November, with just 33.3mm of rain falling over 4 days.  Falls in other parts of Canberra were just as disappointing, with 40.8mm falling at Canberra AP, 27.0mm at Tuggeranong and 39.7mm at nearby Tidbinbilla.  Gungahlin's total rainfall so far in 2006 now stands at just 337.8mm, well down on the 593.0mm that fell over the same period in 2005.

Gungahlin's December Outlook:  Current indications are for slightly cooler and wetter weather conditions to develop in Gungahlin in the lead up to Christmas.  Daytime temperatures should average at around 26 degrees, and nights at 11 degrees.  Despite the recent spell of dry weather, conditions are looking a little more promising, and itís looking increasingly likely that Gungahlin will receive more rain than its longer term December average of 45.2mm.
