Mild, windy start to winter 2002.

Milder temperatures, stronger winds and cloudier skies dominated weather conditions across Gungahlin in June.

Nights were generally cold, with an average minimum of 2.6°C, but this was above last year's average of 0.7°C.   The warmest night was on June 7 when the temperature was a mild 11°C, while on June 30 it dropped to -2°C.

Days were cool and predominantly cloudy, with an average maximum of 11.9°C (13.2°C last year).   The highest temperature was 17°C, recorded on June 7, while on June 28 Gungahlin's maximum struggled to reach just 6°C.

Due to the cloudy conditions, gardeners may not be surprised to read that Gungahlin received only 15 frosts during the month, well down on last June's total of 23.

Fog was also down, with just two fogs recorded compared to last year's six.
