A wet November 2005.
Weather conditions in Gungahlin and North Canberra during November were slightly warmer and much wetter than normal.
Nights were cool to mild, with an average minimum of 10.4 degrees, well up on the 8.9 degrees recorded last November. The warmest night for the month occurred on November 1, when the temperature was a warm 15.4 degrees, while on November 12 it dropped to a cool 3.9 degrees.
Days were generally warm and cloudy, with an average maximum of 22.6 degrees (22.7 degrees last November). The highest temperature for the month was a very warm 27.9 degrees, recorded on November 22, while on November 29 continuous rain and cool NW winds, combined to keep Gungahlin's maximum temperature to just 14.4 degrees.
Winds at the Weather Centre averaged at 3.7 km/h during November, with the strongest gust for the month 48.3 km/h from the NW, recorded on November 8.
The above average spring rainfall continued in November, with Gungahlin recording a welcome 91.2mm of rain, over 13 days. Falls in other parts of Canberra were mixed, with 84mm falling at Canberra AP, just 32mm at Tuggeranong and 74mm at Tidbinbilla. Gungahlin's total rainfall so far in 2005 now stands at 593.0mm, well up on the 383.4mm that fell over the same period in 2004.
Gungahlin's December Outlook: Current indications are for slightly cooler and wetter weather conditions for Gungahlin during December. Daytime temperatures should average at around 26 degrees and nights at 11 degrees. Rainfall prospects remain good, with falls likely to well exceed Gungahlinís longer term December average of 49mm.
